Helena Celewicz is a Chicago-based artist that paints using oil, and dabbles in the occasional drawing as well. Helena's artistic training was informal but omnipresent, as ever since she was a child her world was surrounded by art. The walls of her home were covered in her father's paintings, the bookshelves filled with illustrated hard-covers of Impressionist and Expressionist masters.

Helena mostly paints portraits and often uses hyper intense colors. She is enamored at how colors can dance, strengthen, flirt with one another, as well as their power to evoke a mood or tone that words often cannot express. She especially enjoys painting her friends and family, where she can pair certain colors and shades that evoke her feelings and speak to the relationship she has to the subject.

Other than art, Helena enjoys being in nature, cooking, dancing tango, and spending time in the great company of friends and family.
